End of the road for Kodachrome

Last week, the very last roll of Kodachome was produced.
Knowing this sad day was coming I however have not shot a roll of Kodachome in a long time, nevertheless…
To me this film had strayed from the film it once was, so it lost its special flavor.
In my teens I had the pleasure to see 8 x 10 Kodachome transparencies of Pittsburgh steel mills taken by a local photographer. The look of those images to this day still remains in my mind, what amazing color and crispness!

What is next to go?

Kodachrome
They give us those nice bright colors
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world’s
a sunny day
I got a Nikon camera
I love to take a photograph
So mama don’t take my Kodachrome away
