howdy…i’m big tex!

state fair, new (old) camera test, corny dogs…

since i’ve moved to texas, i unabashedly love all things texas.
but, the state fair i really love.
seeing and hearing big tex for the first time 8 years ago, well i might as well been 8 years old.

these days there are few things that cross all boundaries, racial, economic and age but sit for a while and watch
the diverse crowd of people come by to see big tex and have there picture made with him the the background, truly a thing of beauty to behold.

i spent my yearly trek to see big tex with a new (old) camera in tow.
you see i still love film. so a new (for me) speed graphic 4 x 5 camera and an adopted 60-year-old barrel lens
this was the camera maiden voyage for me and the first film exposed through it.

oh...i almost forgot...corny dogs, fletcher corny dogs, one time a year and damn they are great!
