tall grass and bison

oklahoma tall grass prairie preserve is an open range
and home to well over 1000 bison .
Seeing them roam freely and moving in large herds of over fifty
(like the group in my photo) is a really a great sight.
    they area dangerous and unpredictable animal, but I moved
with this heard for over 2 hours, not getting close enough for the
images I wanted to make, but close enough that a large bull
let me know a few times that I was close enough!
  the sound of just bison, grunting, eating, breathing and walking
mixed with birds and the cries of coyotes in the far distance…
it was a great evening.
